BEFA. The Bathford Shop and the Post Office By the time you read this the Parish Council AGM and the BEFA AGM will have taken place and those of you who attended will understand more of what is planned. If the Post Office does close and it does seem likely, then BEFA would like to take on the extra space. To achieve this we will have to pay more rent, and learn how to sell newspapers and magazines which do make a profit. We need more volunteers to work specifically on newspapers and magazines, to keep the extended space clean and tidy and well stocked with an extended range. You do not need to deal with customers if you feel your skills lie elsewhere and we will provide training. Regular or irregular times , anything from half an hour to any hours you like, every day, once a month or week or whatever suits your life style. Delivering newspapers by car or on foot is another task, and there will be others. Taking one specific area and making sure it runs like clockwork is another possibility. PLEASE PLEASE volunteer. Just try it. I thought I would hate it but it is a social occasion too and I have met lots of lovely people who are all part of our Bathford. Members are needed to to own part of the business. it is only £10 for life. Then you can come to the AGM. Donations welcome too. In addition we need more people to spend money. We do have a wonderful range of stock and new things will always be obtained either on order or as a regular line. Set a target to come in and spend money each week, maybe £10 -£15. Your shop needs YOU. |
