Avonvale Rugby Club has played rugby in Bath since 1883. We are now entering our 125th year. The friendly club provides facilities for all and our club-house on Bathford Hill is available for private functions (please see our website for details.) We play our rugby on one of the most attractive grounds in the area situated in the valley by the river, and have come a long way from the old "Yatesbury" Hut in 1951 situated down on the bottom pitch with old, outdoor single metal baths behind "The Crown" pub, to the club house we have now that was built in 1971 with hot showers !!.

Thanks to all of you that have been patient with us while we have been getting to grips with running the news-agency. We intend business to continue as before, with a daily delivery service and welcome new customers who would like to have newspaper/magazines ordered or delivered. We expect to be fully operating in the whole of the premises by early September but will take a little longer to decide on the final layout of the shop and new stock items and services. A full range of stationery items will be available from this time. We are very grateful to The Co-op for donating the new shelving units and fitting them for us free of charge. Our staffing plans have been decided and we are pleased that our manager Paul Faulkner will continue but now in a full-time capacity. This should allow him the time to fully take on management of all of the shop activities and developments. |

Park and Ride East of Bath |
|
Bath & North East Somerset Council will consider adopting Mill Lane, on the A4, near Bath, as its preferred option for a Park and Ride site east of the city. If agreed, the plan will replace the current proposal for a Park and Ride site at Lambridge.
Research into a number of possible Park and Ride sites on the east of Bath was undertaken. The review of these sites included travel times, access, land ownership, current land usage, and physical constraints. On the basis of the review it is recommending that Mill Lane become the preferred option for a Park and Ride to the east of Bath.
